SCYSS Launch Awareness Billboards in London

Genetic disorder charity Sickle Cell and Young Stroke Survivors (SCYSS) have launched a campaign to build public awareness of the link between sickle cell disease and stroke in children.

Stroke is the one of the 10 largest killer of children in the UK.

Up to 20% of children with sickle cell disease will have a stroke before the age of 16. Some of these children are likely to have further strokes.

This fact is not widely known especially in the black community where the sickle cell gene is prevalent. As a result early signs of stroke are often missed by parents, friends and family members.

These posters are displayed in sites around London.
